Grand reopening!  Yes,  been waiting forever for their amazing chow mein.

Went in on reopening day....majorly busy... please please have patience, they weren't prepared for just a turn out....

Henry Ma, your restaurant is well loved.  So happy Lee's kitchen is back.

I just went into order 20 mins before closing , waited 10 mins before someone helped me just to be told they were all sold out! How can you be all sold out when you don't know what I am even ordering . Plus not to mention they were cooking food for the Togo orders that were waiting .

If you stop serving food at a certain time then it would be nice to list that as your hours of operation because most assume if you close At 9 that means you can order up until 9. Well at least the restaurants I've worked at are like that! This place has been reopened for 3 days now and already the workers are lazy!

If I could give no stars I would.  We were  waiting for drinks to be refilled.  Finally had to pull someone to help us.  Food.... holy crap,  I so very disappointed had the fried prawns, honey walnut shrimp, pork rice, sweet and sour pork.  The prawns were drenching in oil and I know what you are gonna say they are fried but never ever have been to a restaurant where they are sitting in their own grease .  The other food was not tasty at all.  We read the reviews and saw it didnt have some good ones but thought  it was all about the service.  Well here is one for you that shows you

My husband picked me up from work and wanted to drive straight to this location...he said he wanted to try this newly renovated restaurant even though I told him I had eaten there back in 2004 when I was employed by a company next door. I shared with him that I did not enjoy it then and unfortunately I feel the same in October 2019. He agreed that we will not eat there again. The batter on the shrimps as well as the sweet & sour pork is overwhelming. The chow mein had a fishy taste, like the wok was not cleaned properly. The portions are great, but the cook needs to update his culinary skills. Needless to say the best thing about the restaurant is the renovation.

    WOW! Talk about a disappointment:-(
Lee's was always our family's favorite and go to spot for Chinese food. Just tried it for the first time since they reopened. I'm sad to say that the food was horrible! The chow mein was chow mein noodles, but they were bright white! No browning in the pan, no soy sauce, no flavor at all! The fried rice also wasn't cooked properly. The rice was mushy, like Spanish rice but with a little soy sauce, but again, no flavor:-(
I am giving them 2 stars just because it's not the worst Chinese food I've ever had in Modesto. Anyway, if you want good Chinese food, you can go to China Garden on Coffee. I've heard from several ppl that they are from the same family that owns Lee's Kitchen, but at China Garden they are still making food the way Lee's did back in the day!
